  1. Check your water bill. A sudden increase in your water bill without explanation, may be due to a leak in your plumbing pipes.
  2. Listen. If your water is turned off you and you have been hearing running water, hissing, gurgling or a babbling brooks sound that may be an indication of a pressurized underground pipe that’s leaking.
  3. Carpets are damp or wet. Excessive humidity under your carpet can be a sign of trouble in the pipes.
  4. Warm spots in the floor.
  5. Cracks on the walls and floors.
